Curriculum

The Office of Catholic Schools, along with the input and support of the Principals, made the decision that future curriculum revisions would use the Florida Curriculum Frameworks, Sunshine State Standards as the base document and would add concepts relating to the Catholic identity of our schools.

The Diocese of Orlando Curriculum Frameworks presents a comprehensive vision of the educational goals and objectives of the Diocese of Orlando for all subject areas. The intent is to provide schools and teachers with information, tools, and flexibility to create effective programs for the students they serve. A conscious effort has been made to describe the elements necessary for achieving change and improvement in student performance including sections on current “best practices” in education, assessment strategies, techniques for integration and cross-curricular instruction and professional development. This document is used as a resource for developing curricula and lesson plans at the local level.

The standards and benchmarks in the Curriculum Frameworks identify the essential knowledge and skills that students should learn. Individual schools develop and implement specific instructional strategies, materials, and activities to reach the curriculum goals.
