St. Joseph Catholic School is on the Early Learning Coalition of Brevard list of schools that provide VPK for 2009-2010.  St. Joseph Catholic School may not accept “official registration” for VPK until you have the Certificate of Child Eligibility and Enrollment Certificate in hand from the ELC. St. Joseph Catholic School will be happy to give you registration papers which, when filled out, will hold a spot for your child until you have the Certificate of Eligibility and Enrollment Certificate.

Please follow these instructions to obtain your Certificate:

• Download the Application and other details from the local website: www.elcbrevard.org. 
  
  
• Bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of residency (such as your Florida driver’s license or a utility bill that shows your physical residence (no P.O. boxes) to a “roundup”.  Roundup places and dates are available on the ELC website.
  
  
• Child must be 4 years old by September 1st.
  
  
• Once you receive your Certificate, bring it to St. Joseph School and we can then accept your child into VPK.

The State pays for eligible Pre-Kindergarten students up to 15 hours of instruction per week. (3 hours per day/5 days per week = totaling 540 hours per year). 

If you want your child to stay longer than 8:00 to 11:00, additional tuition is required.  The fee schedule for additional hours is attached.

ST. JOSEPH - GENERAL INFORMATION

St. Joseph School’s Pre-Kindergarten Program consists of 20 hours of instruction per week. (4 hours per day/5 days per week = totaling 720 hours per year)

You are welcome to enroll your child at St. Joseph School for the State-funded 3 hour per day program and pick him/her up at 11:00am. 

However, we encourage you to enroll for the 4 hours per day of instruction picking up at 12:00. 

This additional (1) hour of instruction per day must be paid for by you, either through the monthly payment program or in full.

A 3:00 to 6:00 pm aftercare program is also available as shown on the attached rate sheet.
