![]() Annulments / Convalidations An Annulment is an official statement by the Church that, because of a particular impediment or lack of form at the time of the wedding, the former marriage was invalid as a sacrament from the beginning. The Church always assumes the validity of a marriage unless proven otherwise. Hence the need for sensitive and attentive listening to those who are seeking grounds for annulment.
Annulments: Deacon Alfred Somma and Convalidations: Fr. Bob Hoeffner |
An annulment, if granted, frees the person to be married in the Catholic Church. The process of seeking an annulment does not look at the guilt or innocence of the parties but rather the validity or invalidity of the marriage as a sacrament. A Church annulment has no legal ramifications. If you wish to seek an annulment, please contact the parish office to arrange an initial interview. We will be most happy to help you in this healing process. For more information please call
